Angela Chaplin

Angela is Executive Director of Ausdance Qld and has a vast range of experience in the Australian arts industry. She is a highly regarded theatre/multi arts director, writer, event creator and community arts practitioner. She was the Artistic Director of Arena, Magpie and Deckchair Theatres and is a festival director and program manager, events producer and playwright.

She has directed for many of the major theatre companies in Australia including STC, Belvoir Company B, Handspan. Theatre North, Chamber Made Opera, Black Swan, Vitalstatistix and the State Theatre Company Of South Australia. Angela has made work for companies in Japan, India and Venezuela. Her productions have toured nationally and internationally.

Angela’s awards include Edinburgh Fringe First Award for Best New Production, WA Equity Award for Best Direction, Abaf Award for innovation and an Australian Writer’s Guild Award for Best New Play.
