Ausdance National Closes

Advocating for Dance in Queensland

Ausdance National announced yesterday that it will be winding down the organisation after 42 years.

ADQ are very saddened by this news but affirm that the network remains strong and continues it’s work across the country with the state offices. ADQ is secure in our remit and is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland in the current organisational round until the end of 2020.

We want to give a big warm thank you to Kathy Baykitch and the Ausdance National board for their hard work during this difficult period. This announcement comes a few weeks prior to the Australia Council for the Arts outcomes from the first round of EOI bids for 4 year organisational funding, commencing 2021. We acknowledge the complex creative industries ecology and ever decreasing government financial support, and, applaud our members courage, strength and determination in continuing to make, share, educate and embrace dance in Australia!
