Ausdance Queensland is the state’s peak body representing the interests of its diverse dance community. Established in 1992, this membership organisation provides advocacy and sustainable industry development for Queensland dance. Ausdance is endorsed by the sector as its primary advocate and advisory representative in the development of government policy, sector planning, the identification, review and implementation of strategic industry initiatives.
The focus for the organisation’s development efforts is with emerging and professional sector. Ausdance increases opportunities for dance artists to access information, resources, venues, employment opportunities, profile and professional development. It builds audiences through not only increasing community awareness of, participation in and support for dance, but also by investing and improving conditions for the development of new dance works. We address the needs of independent artists, community dance practitioners, youth and emerging artists, educators (institutional and community), and individuals in the broader community.
It is supported by local, regional, national and international networks, including Ausdance National, the network of Ausdance offices in other states. Here is the Ausdance National 2014 Annual Report.
