Collaborating with Trichotomy, one of Australia’s most inventive contemporary music ensembles, Expressions Dance Company’s new production Behind Closed Doors explores the hidden lives of the staff and guests of a fantasy hotel.
Choreographed by EDC's award-winning artistic director, Natalie Weir, Behind Closed Doors blends seductive movement with Trichotomy’s live jazz and features special guest musical performances by Vocalist Kristin Berardi and Saxophonist Rafael Karlen.
EDC dancers Michelle Barnett, Richard Causer, Benjamin Chapman, Elise May, Jake McLarnon and Alana Sargent are joined on stage by QUT Honours dance students Isabella Hood and Tiana Pinnell and Chinese guest artist Xu Yiming, who is part of the Chinese Australian Dance Exchange.
With an uber-stylish set by Designer Greg Clarke, Behind Closed Doors will stimulate and fascinate as it explores our obsessions with luxury, image and voyeurism.
Behind Closed Doors opens this Friday at QPAC and runs until 27 May.
