Collusion Music Presents Transient Beauty, a chamber ballet by choreographer Gareth Belling and composer Susan Hawkins.
Four dancers and four musicians create more than a fairy tale, a beautiful and inspiring story of a woman’s search to rebuild her family.Transient Beauty returns to Brisbane for one show only on 11 October, 2014 as part of the Queensland Conservatorium’s Crossbows Music Festival, before performances in Cairns (23 Oct) and Townsville (25 Oct). Collusion Music is joined on stage by dancers Rosetta Cook, Gareth Belling, Melissa Tattam and Asher Bowen-Saunders. Don’t miss this beautiful fusion of dance and music at the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre.
From the opening sequence, Belling’s muscular and fluid choreography creates a striking image of mankind’s desperate yearning for connection and belonging. Original compositions by Susan Hawkins, i read the old dream slowly and a new work for violin and piano, Within the Silent Frame, build a tensely elegant soundscape. Her music is woven between existing pieces by Carl Vine, Nigel Sabin and Tom Green to create an engaging musical language for this evocative chamber ballet.
