Free Ausdance Qld Workshop – Wed 14 February, 5.30pm

On Wednesday 14 February, come along and find out about the Ausdance Queensland performance project entitled All The Dancing I Have Known.

For the last three months Ausdance Queensland has been working weekly with the residents of four Lutheran Services aged care facilities.

Our workshops have investigated the residents’ memories of dance. And what memories they are…. stories of mirror balls and slippery dance floors, petticoats and suppers, riding horses and flying wartime bombers, learning to jive and falling in love during a waltz.

In addition to the exploration of these stories we have also engaged kinetic memory and our dance artists have collaborated with the residents to create choreography for their unique abilities.

Come and experience a sample workshop facilitated by Clare Apelt, dance therapist and Creative Advisor for Lutheran Services, director and writer Angela Chaplin, dance artist Sandi Woo and River City Ballroom owners and teachers Sue Gillingham and Dane Berry.

We will also show footage of some of the project’s work to date.

Come spend the hour. It’s free.
