Making Space Conditions

  1. The subsidy is for Ausdance members who are DANCE artists only.
  2. The subsidy is for dance development only. It is not for shows, lessons or other commercial activities.
  3. We strongly advise to approach us early; four weeks’ notice is recommended.
  4. We prefer the venue to be a theatre or performance space, with a safe dance floor, located in Queensland.
  5. We will subsidise 50% of a rent of up to $20 per hour. (This means we will provide up to $10 per hour). Artists are encouraged to negotiate rates to about $20 per hour with the venue first (for a bulk booking).
  6. We will provide a subsidy for up to 40 hours in a block. You can ask for more than one block.
  7. Depending on the theatre, we prefer to pay the total rent directly to the venue and then invoice you (the dance artist) for your contribution. Please consider this when you arrange the rental.
  8. Cancellations can be made 2 weeks ahead of bookings without charge. Cancellations that are within two weeks of the booking will attract non-subsidised charges.

If you organise a space in-kind but need other assistance at 50% subsidy for creative development, please send us a proposal.
