This page brings together the ways Ausdance Queensland is supporting the dance sector to meet the new Child Safe Standards: the Step Up! for Safe Dance resource and our Child Safe Studios workshop tour led by Regional Arts Advisor Leilani across Queensland.
Child Safe Studios is a hands-on, full-day workshop designed to support arts organisations to implement the Queensland Child Safe Standards in real, everyday studio settings. Developed by Leilani as a companion to our Safedance for Kids course, it’s designed to deepen and build on those learnings in a practical studio context – though you don’t need to have completed Safedance for Kids to attend. Compliance is now required for all dance organisations and individuals working with children and young people under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024, and these sessions focus on what that looks like in practice.
