Chair | Anne Metcalfe
Anne is an internationally experienced marketer, corporate communication specialist and arts administrator. She returned to Brisbane in 2021 after 20 years away in Singapore, New Zealand, and USA. In USA, she managed the operations of Milwaukee Ballet Company and Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy, responsible for finance and governance, board liaison, marketing, fundraising, community engagement, DEI & human resources.
In past corporate roles, Anne has worked across energy, economic development, tourism, industrial relations, workplace health and safety, and workers’ compensation insurance. Most recently, she has worked with Australasian Dance Collective in a consulting capacity.
Anne is passionate about equity and access for the arts and creating a culture of inclusion and belonging within dance institutions. She brings international perspectives and contacts to the role of Chair, as well as a deep appreciation of the power of the community in supporting the dance industry’s philanthropic and marketing imperatives.
Anne grew up in Maryborough, Queensland, learning ballroom dancing with Colin Ogilvie. Her three teenagers are heavily invested in the arts with two in dance and one in theatre. Anne will be supported in her role by Co-Vice Chairs, Nerida Matthaei and Hannah Scanlon.
