Co-Vice Chair | Hannah Scanlon
Hannah Scanlon is a proud Wiradjuri woman from North-Western NSW, raised on the mid north coast on Gumbaynggir Country, lived and worked in Magan Djin (Brisbane) for over 17 years as an artist and producer.
Hannah has an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts from the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts (ACPA) and a Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Dance from Qld University of Technology.
In her producing career, Hannah has worked for BlakDance on projects such as the BlakDance Residency Program and Maroomba Ginyinggarr-bu a Christmas Elder’s Program. She is currently part of the First Nations team at Queensland Performing Arts Centre and has worked on seasons by Bangarra, Karul Projects and My Urrawai by Ghenoa Gela as well as contributing significantly to the programs for signature festivals Out of The Box & Clancestry Festival. Hannah proudly produces new works in multiple artforms for and by the First Nations artistic community and delivers community-led events with organisations such as Link-Up & Inala Wangarra, Digi Youth Arts and more.
As a dance artist, Hannah has performed in works directed or choreographed by Marilyn Miller, Albert David, Meryl Tankard, Leah Purcell, Deon Hastie, Gina Rings, Elise May and Zaimon Vilmanis. She’s performed in works in Out of the Box Festival, Spirit Festival, Q150, The Deadly Awards and The Dreaming Festival. Hannah has toured internationally to Brazil, Japan and China.
