“It was my first year at the conference and I loved it! From the moment I entered the beautiful QB building I was greeted by friendly delegates who all tried to get to know me by having lovely conversations. The welcome to Country was really special, the talk with Leanne Benjamin was interesting, the workshops were fantastic. All presenters and staff were outstanding. I even won a lucky door prize of a Bloch drink bottle that I have not stopped using. I’ll be back!” – QDEC24 Attendee
“The best Dance Teacher PD a teacher could attend! The freedom to select your schedule based on your own teaching focus from a high standard of industry and teaching professionals is amazing! Great variety of sessions and always a great networking opportunity.” - QDEC24 Attendee
Regional & Remote Bursary
The Regional and Remote Dance Educators Bursary was created in 2020 by Ausdance Educators QLD (AEQ) to recognise and alleviate the challenges that dance educators from regional and remote communities in Queensland experience in attending professional development in-person. In 2024, the bursary will provide one practising dance educator (or the institution providing financial support for the professional development activity) with reimbursement of their costs (including registration, travel and accommodation) to attend the Queensland Dance Educators Conference 2024 (QDEC24) in Brisbane up to the value of $1000.
2024 recipients
Eve Murphy (Chinchilla State High School) & Caitlin Sands (Trinity Bay State High School)
Osmotherly Dance Educator Award
The Osmotherly Dance Educator Award was created to recognize the outstanding contribution of dance educators whose work has clearly earned them a state, national or international reputation throughout Queensland.
The winner of the 2024 award will be announced at the Queensland Dance Education conference on May 11 2024.
