The Dancenorth 2021 Secondment Program invites 25 young dance artists from Australia and New Zealand to participate in a full time secondment experience led by the Dancenorth Ensemble, with Amber Haines (Associate Artistic Director). The program runs Monday 12 to Friday 16 July and incorporates company class, skills training, creative workshops and Dancenorth repertoire.

For the first time, this year, the Dancenorth Community Experience team is offering an additional two-day intensive for dance artists interested in expanding their practice to include the creation of community-driven experiences from Thursday 8 to Friday 9 July.

In addition to the formal, week long Secondment Program opportunity, invite only secondment opportunities run year round and provide dance artists the opportunity to work alongside the full-time ensemble in the creative development of new works.

Dancenorth are committed to offering all Secondment Program opportunities to participants free of charge, with the express purpose of ensuring equity of access to these kinds of professional development opportunities.

COST

This program is free, but applicants must be able to cover the cost of all personal expenses including transport, flights and living expenses while in Townsville.
