Dance Makers Collective (Darug Country, Western Sydney, NSW), Dancenorth (Gurambilbarra and Yunbenun Country, Townsville, QLD), GUTS (Arrernte Country, Alice Springs, NT), Tasdance (Lutruwita Country, Launceston, TAS) and Tracks (Larrakia Country, Darwin, NT) invite a dance practitioner to spend two weeks with each company, in a self-directed residency, to explore their practice, connect with new landscapes and share with the communities we serve.

About the role
As an integral team member within our operations, the company manager is pivotal to the smooth running of not just the artistic program, but our Youth Ensemble and education programs, community engagement, performance seasons, tours and funding applications.

For this multi-faceted, fast-paced and constantly evolving role, you will need to be ultra-organised, resourceful, have an eye for detail, tech-savvy, creative and be able to problem solve.

Every day is different, and your role covers a multitude of responsibilities, including the key area of liaising with the dancers to ensure their program of training, health and wellbeing is of the highest standard.

We are a small team which works collaboratively. You will be encouraged to contribute on everything from marketing initiatives and publicity to producing our many special functions and events - we all pitch in and help where needed.

We are passionate about the business of creating art – we also have a lot of fun doing it.

Reporting to the Dancenorth Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies in order to promote Dancenorth’s vision locally, nationally and internationally. This includes the design and implementation of all aspects of the marketing department, including liaison and management of external contractors (media, design, print etc).

The Marketing and Communications Manager’s role is to involve, retain and build Dancenorth’s audiences, participants and supporters. This position is part of the management team at Dancenorth and will play an important role in helping to drive the Company’s direction.
